Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of Christ - Fr. Estefanous

The Lord Jesus Christ didn’t put before people a paved road carpeted with roses, but told them that the road would be hard and the gate would be narrow. He said to them “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Mathew 7:14). He explained to them how they would meet with hardships for the sake of his name and for righteousness, then he said to them, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Ble ssed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Mathew 5:10-2). This fact must be shown clearly before every Christian if he behaves in righteousness, he/she will become tired. Christ Said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” (Mathew 16:24). The bible also said in Acts 14:22 that the righteous and the faithful must go through many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.
